A Lebanese Smoothie with the Freshness of Fruits
and the fanciness of Areesheh Cream and Nuts
Our smoothies, in their variety, tend to reflect the richness of our nature. Or maybe it is due to our abundance of fruits.
We love them with chunks of fresh fruits, colorful like our nature, and topped with curdled cream and nuts. A classic of Lebanon in a variety of recipes, some sweetened, and some fancier than kings; creativeness could be fun and surely delicious!
This recipe is the simplest you might find around in Lebanon. I mean, in every coffee shop and juice counters. Banana, strawberry, and orange juice make this smoothie, which I then top with slices of banana, Lebanese curdled cream, and a couple of strawberries.
I sprinkle our infaillible almost-always-present Pine Kernels for a subtle crunchy texture. A final touch of honey is drizzled on.
The sweetness of this smoothie comes only from the fruits and the honey. No sugar whatsoever in, not even in the curdled cream. So, go ahead and enjoy the sweetness of nature in all its natural forms!

Strawberry Banana Smoothie with Cream and Nuts
Ingredients
Group 1
- 10 Strawberries (medium) sliced
- 1 Banana (large) sliced
- 1/2 cup Orange Juice
- 2 Ice Cubes
Toppings: Group 2
- 4 tbsps Curdled Cream or as desired
- 4 Strawberries (small)
- 6 Banana Slices
- 2 tsps Pine Kernels
- 4 tsps Honey to drizzle

Instructions

Prepare the Curdled Cream following the instructions of my recipe. (link above).
Add the fruits and the orange juice (group 1) in the blender, and bring to smoothness. Drop in the ice cubes, and blend well.
If your smoothie feels too thick, add some juice or water little by little until you get the desired texture.

Pour the smoothies equally into two tall glasses.
Arrange 3 slices of Banana (group 2) on each. With a spoon, gently press them a little down to have them half in.
Top each glass with 2 spoons of Curdled Cream, and top them with strawberries (group 2)
Sprinkle pine kernels, and drizzle with honey.
Serve immediately, and enjoy!
