A Quick, Healthy Recipe of 9 gr Fat Only and Zero Cholesterol


Here is a great healthy snack and breakfast idea for your children and family. It’s healthy, nutritious, delicious, and takes barely 20 minutes to get it ready if you have the Ashta cream ready in your fridge.

If you are a menu planner, like most parents, you may prepare the Ashta a day before, and even continue with this recipe and have the Ashtalia ready for breakfast.

Ashtalieh is a derivative of Ashta, and expresses the creamy texture of this succulent coconut pudding made from that same Lebanese Cream.


This one in particular is cutting on the fat and the cholesterol. So you can feel no guilt whatsoever about enjoying it. I recommend doubling the quantity because your family is certainly going to rave about it and ask for more.

The Ashta Cream is prepared with the same recipe “How to Make Ashta Cream…” with added Mastic. It is then pour on pieces of Coconut biscuits in serving bowls. We top them with a layer of  Shredded Coconut, and sprinkle pistachio nuts on.

Some people, like me, love the extra Almonds on top, which you may or not add. It goes the same for the garnishing with flower jams. Although I do recommend it when you are receiving guests. it makes a difference in the aesthetic presentation.

Optional also the extra adding of Lebanese Syrup at serving time. This recipe is a low-fat one that has enough enjoyable sweetness, so it doesn’t include it nor needs it.

  • 6 pcs Coconut Biscuits
  • 2 cups Ashta Cream Please refer to my recipe "How to Make Ashta Cream."
  • 1/2 tsp Mastic pounded
  • 6 tsps Shredded Coconut
  • 6 tsps Pistachio Nuts pounded
  • 6 tsps Almonds (optional) toasted (to garnish)
  • 1 tbsp Flower-Jam to garnish


  1. Break the biscuits in pieces, dividing them into 6 serving bowls.

    Prepare the Ashta Cream following my recipe "how to make Ashta Cream" and adding to it the grounded Mastic.

  2. Pour the Ashta Cream equally over the biscuits in the bowls.

    Sprinkle on the shredded coconut in a generous layer.

    Follow with the pistachio nuts, and the almonds, and garnish with flower-jam.

    Place the bowls in the fridge to cool and chill. 

    Serve cold and enjoy it!
