EASY AND HEALTHY RECIPE
This recipe is for 3 glasses. It uses 2 Mango fruits, plain yogurt, and walnuts. No added sugar! The sweetness comes only from the Mangoes.
We blend 1 Mango into a creamy juice. The 2nd Mango will go in bites between layers of fresh yogurt over the smoothie. The layering ends with yogurt at the top, which we garnish with walnuts.
Make sure to use good fresh mangoes that are ripe enough. Here is how to choose your best mangoes at the supermarket or fruit market:
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR BEST MANGOES AT THE STORE: Ripe Mangoes are softer and slightly heavier than the unripe ones. The fragrance is a good indication of a nicely ripe mango. By the stem end is your best bet to detect the smell that should be sweet. Be prudent not to choose a Mango that is way too soft. The ripeness might have turned to sourness. So, go for the smell, the texture, and the weight.
Creamy Mango Smoothie with Yogurt and Walnuts
- 3 cups Plain Yogurt
- 2 Mangoes (mature)
- 1 cup Walnuts Break them in smaller pieces
- A Blender
Peel and cut 1 Mango in chunks.
Place them in the blender, and run it until creamy juicy.
Divide them equally in the 3 serving glasses.
Peel and cut the 2nd Mango into small cubes (or bites).
We are going to create layers of mango and yogurt:
Place one tablespoon of Yogurt on each glass. Spread it gently if needed.
Follow it with one tablespoon of mango cubes.
Repeat with one tablespoon of Yogurt then one tablespoon of mango cubes.
Continue until the cups are full, ending with just dropping a spoon of yogurt (without spreading it).
Top it with the mango cubes (also without spreading them.)
Garnishing and Serving
Garnish with walnuts. Serve cold and enjoy it!
