Zesty Garlic Duo Cheese

Fragrant with Fine Herbs, Fine Spices, and Scallions

A Treat Recipe From The ELR Creative Cheese Series

 

The Creative Cheese Series continues with this fancy duo cheese that blends in Garlic Butter with two types of cheese: Cream Cheese and Goat Cheese. It brings in the freshness of red pepper, parsley, basil, and scallions.

This beautiful combination of aromas and textures is boosted in fragrance with Lemon Zest, Rosemary, Cinnamon, and Pepper.

Mouthwatering, isn’t it? Absolutely a must-try! 

This recipe yields 2 bowls of 10 oz. It is recommended to use ceramic or glass for the recipients. We will be laying a kitchen film wrap in and around before filling them with the prepared cheese mixture, and then cover well with the extended film-wrap.

So, consider having these items handy. The cheese bowls will be then placed in the fridge for 24 hours  to set and solidify enough.

Duo Cheese Fragrant with Fine Herbs, Zest, Scallions and Garlic

Ingredients

Group 1: Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Goat Cheese (225g) or Feta Cheese
  • 1 cup Cream Cheese (225g)
  • 1/2 cup Roasted Garlic Butter Leave out of the fridge to soften ahead of time
  • 3 tbsps Fresh Lebanese Parsley (or Italian) chopped finely
  • 2 tbsps Fresh top Scallions chopped finely
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Basil chopped finely
  • 2 tsps Lemon Zest

Group 2: Herbs and Spices

  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1 pinch Dry Rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Red Pepper
  • Salt as desired

Tool

  • Blender
  • 2 10-oz Glass or Ceramic Bowls
  • Kitchen film-wrap

Instructions

  1. Add the cheeses and the butter in the blender and run for 3 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients of Group 1, and blend into smoothness. 

    Season with the Herbs and Spices (Group 2), and run for few seconds. 

  2. Extend a film-wrap to cover the bottom and sides of each bowl, with enough extra extending over the rims. That extra is needed to cover the surface once the bowls filled with the cheese mixture.

    Gently transfer the cheese mixture into the bowls in equal portion. With a wet spoon, press gently and spread the mixture evenly. 

  3. Fold the extra film wrap extension over the cheese, covering well. Place the bowls in the fridge, and allow them 24 hours to chill. 

Serving

  1. Past the 24 hours, you may start enjoying the cheese. Uncover, top the bowl with a serving plate, and gently turn it all upside down. Remove the remaining plastic-wrap, and serve by slices.

    Keep your 2nd bowl wrapped and stored in the fridge until time to consume it. 

    Make sure you cover the unconsumed part of the first cheese when storing in the fridge. It can last you up to one week.
