Rule #1: Roast your beets instead of boiling them to preserve their nutritious values and authentic taste. Boiling them takes away most of their health benefits.

Rule #2: Roast your beets ahead of time, and store them in your fridge in an air-tighten container.  This will allow a super quick preparation of any of their salads.

How to Best Roast Beets

Course Salad, Side Dish

Cook Time 1 hour
Cooling time 10 minutes

  • 8 Beets washed, and heads and bottoms cut off.
  • Olive Oil
  • Aluminium or Tin Foil


  1. Preheat your oven to 375F

    Sweep each beet with some Pure Olive Oil (not Virgin or Extra Virgin) and wrap it with Aluminium or tin foil.

    Place your wrapped beets on the oven rack to roast for about 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the efficacy of your oven. 

  2. Remove from oven and leave them to cool down at room temperature for 10 minutes.

    Skin them off, by hand and with the help of a fork if needed.

    Your beets are now ready for any Salad recipe or to be eaten as is.
