How to Make Layeli Loubnan Cream Dessert with 0 Cholesterol

Envision the delight of a light Ashta Cream,

enhanced with Banana, Strawberry and Nuts,

and drizzled with Honey!


Layeli Loubnan, which translates into “Nights of Lebanon”, is more than a Ashta Cream Layeli Dessertpromising insinuation of romance. It is the name given to a super delicious dessert of Ashta Cream drizzled with honey or Lebanese syrup, enhanced with banana slices (and sometimes strawberry), and topped with nuts.

It is certainly one of my favorites for being light and not too sweetened. The honey or sugar syrup is added at the desire and convenience of the person upon serving.

Our culinary experts assure that the dessert of Layeli Loubnan has 0 Cholesterol when drizzled with 100% natural honey instead of Syrup. I like to believe it. 🙂

What is the Ashta Cream?

Strawberry is optional for this dessert.

Ashta is the Lebanese Clotted Fresh Cream. The written Arabic word is Kashta. However, as I previously explained, our spoken language does not pronounce most of the K and the Q at the beginning of the words and at the center.

So, if you are in town, and wish for some of this delicious light cream, ask for Ashta, not Kashta. Same goes for the other desserts containing this cream, like Kanafeh bil Ashta and so on.


Ashta CreamI recently shared with you, in the main recipe of the Homemade Ashta, the original production of our Ashta cream. It used to require plenty of efforts and hours, from the process of pasteurizing our own milk at home to the long process of skimming out the cream layer by layer.

You can imagine how valuable were the Ashta and the desserts containing!  And this was not “once upon a time” but just little decades ago.

You might even find Ashta in some Lebanese supermarkets. Yet, I don’t really recommend it. I tried it, and did not like its aftertaste.

Having these two delicious fruits with the Ashta Cream simply makes a succulent healthy dessert!

So, here, from me to you with love, the easiest  and healthiest recipe of Layeli Loubnan with 0 cholesterol!

Ashta ingredients

 First, prepare he Ashta by following the instructions of my Homemade Ashta Cream

  • 2 cups Ashta warm
  • 1 Ground Musk
  • 2 tbsps Pistachio Nuts finely grounded
  • 1 tbsp Pine Kernels raw
  • 1 tbsp Almond poached and peeled
  • 2 Banana (medium) cut in round pieces
  • 2 tbsps Honey
  • 5-6 Strawberries (Optional) sliced


  1. Prepare the Ashta cream following its recipe and adding to it the ground musk.

    Spread it on a serving plate, and chill in the fridge.

  2. At serving time, garnish it with the fruit(s), top them with nuts, and drizzle on the honey.
